Bringing the neighborhood together with community events
The mission of the Waterman-Lake Improvement District includes sponsoring community events to promote our area and bring the neighborhood together. Past events have included holiday parties, ice cream socials and outdoor movie nights.

Second outdoor movie night brings out more than 200 people for 3-D event

More than 200 people brought blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets to Ferring Field at New City School on Friday, May 22nd for a special, free outdoor showing of Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D starring Brendan Fraser.
The Waterman-Lake Improvement District provided free 3D glasses, ice cream novelties, kettlecorn, soda and water.
The Trustees offered their thanks to New City School for kindly hosting this second outdoor movie event.
Last year's movie, Ghostbusters, was a great success in spite of threatening weather with more than 100 people coming out to enjoy a fun evening as a neighborhood. Given the popularity of this event, the Trustees are looking to host another movie event in spring 2010.
